Rev. Fonda Hinkle

Advisory Board/Pastor Emeritus/Women's Director

Sister Fonda came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age. During Jr. High, she attended Evangel Temple located at 1917 Del Paso Blvd, in Sacramento, CA, and taught Sunday School from the age of 15. It was also at Evangel Temple that Sister Fonda met and married her Husband, Pastor Troy Hinkle in 1965. The Hinkles felt the call of the Lord to help build a church in Miami, Florida. There, they served as the Assistant Pastors. Leaving Miami, FL for Chicago, IL, they assisted Pastor James Walden at Mountain Assembly Church of God while they were privileged to be invited to attend classes at Moody Bible Institute and Chicago Bible Institute. It was from there, that they were sent out onto the evangelistic field with ordinations through both the Full Gospel Fellowship International, Echoes of Calvary and Mountain Assembly Church of God . Together they traveled and ministered throughout the mid-western and southern regions of the United States until returning to Sacramento, California and accepting the Position of Youth Pastors back at their former church of Evangel Temple under Pastor Jerry Barnard. They remained at Evangel Temple until 1972 when they were released by Pastor Barnard to assist another local church in opening a separate center just to minister to the youth of the Greater Sacramento area. Together, they built the ministry known as “His Place” in Carmichael, California and ministered to many involved in the “Jesus People” movement of the decade. Later they built a similar ministry known as "The One Way House" in Rancho Cordova, CA, while serving as Associate Pastors. (continued in supplement listing)
Rev. Fonda Hinkle

Rev. Fonda Hinkle's Bio Continued

Following their service in Rancho Cordova, Pastor Troy Hinkle and Pastor Fonda Hinkle were called to form their own organization, Christian Faith Outreach and to open an inner-city church in the heart of Sacramento’s then, “skid row”. The Church was known as “Capital City Holy Spirit Center” and services were held in the Senator Hotel until the Hotel closed its doors. Pastor Fonda and her Husband Pastor Troy Hinkle did not only minister in the churches and youth centers of Sacramento, California, but also on the streets of Sacramento. There were many times that they would form teams of people to preach on the street, or in the middle of the “K Street Mall”. They would go out and knock on doors, leading people to Jesus Christ right where they were. After closing the Capitol City Holy Spirit Center, Pastors Troy and Fonda Hinkle were invited back to their former church Evangel Temple but then renamed Heritage Christian Center by the Pastoral Team of Don Shephard and First lady Shirley Shephard as Associate Pastors and also as Youth Pastors. They were right back in North Sacramento. From there, Pastors Troy and Fonda Hinkle left to form and preach in a number of home churches under the umbrella of Christian Faith Outreach until accepting an Associate Pastor’s position at Victory Tabernacle under Pastor Verdon Henry. Pastor Fonda Hinkle was also credentialed and ordained in 1985 under Jesus People Information Center, Inc. Pastor Henry released Pastors Troy and Fonda to serve as the interim Singles Pastors at Trinity Life Center in Sacramento, California for a season before inviting them back to be the Assistant Pastors of Victory Tabernacle. In 1998 Pastor Henry retired and the congregation invited Pastor Troy Hinkle to be their Senior Pastor, and Pastor Fonda Hinkle to assist Him.Pastor Fonda Hinkle has remained in the capacity of Senior Pastor Emeritus, Executive First Lady, and Pastor over Lighthouse of Victory Ladies Ministries after the passing of Pastor Troy.
